Intervention
What is an Intervention?
An intervention is a carefully planned and structured process where concerned family members and friends come together with the guidance of a professional interventionist, to confront an individual struggling with addiction, alcoholism, or mental health issues. The purpose of the intervention is to provide a safe and supportive space for loved ones to express their concerns and offer support, with the goal of motivating the individual to recognize the severity of their situation and accept the need for professional help and treatment. Through open communication, the family presents specific examples of how the individual’s behavior has impacted themselves and others, with the aim of encouraging the person to take steps toward recovery.
Why hire an Interventionist ?
It is crucial to intervene when a family member is in active addiction and at risk of death because at that point, their lives and maybe even the lives of others are also at stake. Addiction can lead to severe health complications, overdose, and even death, making it a matter of urgency to address the situation. By intervening, family members can show their love and concern, and also provide the individual with the opportunity to seek the necessary help and support to overcome their addiction and mental health struggles. Without intervention, however, the individual’s condition may worsen, and the risk of irreversible consequences becomes greater. Therefore, taking action to intervene can be a lifesaving and transformative step in helping the family member recover and reclaim their life.
